Restaurant Review: Sherefe Mediterranean Grill

Today you are in for a very special treat--my very first restaurant review!! My friend Stella and I headed over to Sherefe's for a lunch to-go and they did not disappoint.

The 411--

Sherefe Mediterranean Grill
3608 Ramsey Street
Fayetteville, NC 28311

Located on one of Fayetteville's main drags, it's easily missed from the bustling street that is Ramsey, but once inside you're enveloped in wonderful hospitality!! The owner, Mustafa Somar, opened this, his first restaurant in 2003 after spending over 30 years in the industry. He gave Stella a giant hug and couldn't stop smiling the entire time we were there. He's a tall, jolly man, perhaps the Turkish version of Santa Claus? A trim Turkish Santa of course!!! They've earned quite a few awards, most recently "Best Vegetarian" and "Best Soup" by Fayetteville's Up & Coming Magazine.
Mustafa & his wife Kathy, pride themselves on using local food as is showcased in the daily specials. Sherefe means "cheers" in Turkish and the restaurant is definitely a good manifestation of the word!
The restaurant has dine-in and to-go options, there are two dining rooms in which to enjoy your meal. I love the floaty feeling the drapes give--almost like you're in the desert and have walked into a little food oasis.
I ordered the special soup--red lentil. It was very flavorful and had a nice light, yet creamy broth.
a Greek salad (with extra olives!) This was perhaps one of the best Greek salads that I've ever had, every leaf of lettuce was perfectly coated with dressing!!!
Complimentary pita breads--perfectly warmed.
Altogether now!!!
I made little salad roll-ups with a few of my pitas! :)
All in all, Sherefe has WONDERFUL food and a very pleasant atmosphere. I just wish we'd been able to eat in the restaurant with a nice glass of wine. I can't wait to go back for dinner and get one of the meat based dishes. If you ever find yourself in Fayetteville, make a special trip to Sherefe's on Ramsey Street!!! Tashakir to Mustafa and everyone at Sherefe Mediterranean Grill for another awesome meal!!!!! :D

I love it there but I didnt find the Greek salad that amazing. The dressing was on the side and so I didnt have that every leaf was covered in dressing.
One thing I like about the place is that they have a great wine list!!

I love when cute neighborhoody places still have a commitment to fresh ingredients and local food. Because yeah, snobby restaurants have been doing it for awhile, but sometimes you just want a fun relaxing lunch. Looks awesome!
