The best part of waking up...

...hmmm is that a joke? No! I think after you get up, no putzing around in bed, jump up right when the alarm goes off--the getting it over with is the best part of waking up! I've been up since right around 5am and have gotten a lot done, but I'll tell you about my weekend first.

Saturday night I went out with my friend Stephanie who I haven't seen since June. Before that, she was gone on a 15 month deployment to Iraq. We had a great time & lots of laughs!! Sunday I woke up just a teensy bit hungover, made a green monster and ran away to the beach!

It was so relaxing to be by myself, reading magazines and people watching. Although I am paying for not wearing sunblock!! It was overcast and I just didn't think about putting it on before I left. :( I'm a sad lobstah now! But don't worry, I've got plenty of aloe gels, lotions & potions at my disposal since the husband is a pro at sunburn care. :)

I made some chicken with Trader Joe's masala sauce for dinner.

I ate my chicken plain, the husband had some roasted potatoes with his dinner.

Yesterday I woke up late for work, didn't have time to make anything for breakfast so the day really didn't start out too well. I had a plate of roast beef for lunch, nothing else really sounded appealing. After work I made a nice BIG salade for dinner, it had spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, mushrooms, olives, artichokes, green onions and homemade balsamic vinaigrette.

I skipped going to Crossfit this morning because of my sunburn :( I really hope that I heal quickly!! I took advantage of my morning "off" to do some chores--got some laundry done, made lunch for the husband, made a batch of bacon :)

And a wonderful green monster for breakfast!

Today's recipe:
1 cup almond milk
2-3 cups spinach
1 frozen banana
1/4 cup frozen mixed berries
1 T almond butter
1 T coconut oil
1 scoop wheatgrass powder
vanilla extract

It's pretty good and will give me plenty of good energy to tackle my day!
