Good afternoon everybody! I got to sleep in today and it was AWESOME! It would've been tons better if my cats weren't pawing at the door trying to wake me up to feed them. They can survive without food for a few hours dangit!
Around 10:30 I slid out of bed and got the felines their breakfast, threw some bacon in the oven, tidied up around the kitchen a bit and made my green monster.
Had some cherries from Whole Foods along with my bacon.
We decided to stay in town today, go to the fireworks on post tonight and maybe even light our own fire in the pit. The husband found out about some Highland Games going on next weekend in Boone, we've seen them on tv and they look like a lot of fun! There's also a big marathon next weekend at Grandfather Mountain that he wants to do. There was a registration cap and he sent an email to the race director to see if he can get in last minute. I hope they'll let him in, that really sounds like an awesome weekend in the mountains! :)
Here are some pictures from my garden. Some of my tomatoes are starting to turn red!
And I'm glad the cucumbers are growing, I wasn't sure if they were going to make it when I first put them in the ground. I may have been watering too much, so I cut back on that and they really perked up.
So that's it for today, I'm going to finish laundry & tidying up the house before getting ready to go see the fireworks. Hope everyone has a great Independence Day!
